FDM is a being,  spirit, or entity that appears when a person is in jeopardy, and their life close to ending.  I call it maternal vigilantism.  She has appeared countless times throughout history, stopping hearts, causing convenient calamity, rescuing victims and condeming victimizers. Judge, jury and executioner / doting guardian.
